Why Choose an Industrial Floor Scrubber?
In 2026, purchasing an electric pallet truck requires evaluating the Total Cost of Ownership rather than just the sticker price. Use this technical checklist to ensure you are buying a machine that is safe, efficient, and serviceable.
1. Battery Technology: Lithium vs. Lead-Acid vs. AGM
The battery is the "engine" of your Pallet truck. Understanding the differences is vital for long-term ROI:
- Lithium-Ion (Recommended): Highest upfront cost but lowest TCO. Offers 3,000+ cycles, fast 1–2 hour charging, and "opportunity charging" during breaks.
- AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat): A mid-tier, maintenance-free lead-acid variant. It doesn't require watering, but it has a shorter lifespan (approx. 500–1,000 cycles) and slower charging than Lithium.
- Lead-Acid (Flooded): Lowest cost but highest maintenance. Requires regular water topping, dedicated ventilated charging rooms, and 8+ hours to charge. Power "fades" as the battery drains.
2. Advanced Battery Features
- True BMS Control & Communication: Ensure the Lithium battery has a Battery Management System (BMS) that uses CAN bus communication to "talk" to the charger. This allows the charger to adjust parameters in real-time, preventing overcharging and cell damage. Note not all Lithium have a BMS.
- Heated Battery Option: If you operate in cold storage or outdoor winter climates, a heated battery is essential. Lithium batteries cannot be charged below freezing 0∘C a heated system uses internal elements to warm the cells so they can accept a charge in cold environments, preventing permanent capacity loss.
- One-Motion Swap: Ensure the truck uses plug-and-play connections rather than manual undoing cables to enable 10-second battery exchanges
3. Safety and Drive Controls
- Controller Quality: Look for Motor Controllers.
- Auto-Slowing in Corners: A critical safety feature that automatically reduces travel speed during a turn to prevent the truck from tipping or the load from sliding.
- Operator Pin Pad: Replaces physical keys to prevent theft and unauthorized use. It ensures only trained personnel with a specific code can operate the machine.
- Stabilizing Wheels: Look for spring-loaded or adjustable side casters. These provide 5-point stability, which is vital when crossing dock plates or turning with heavy loads.
4. Maneuverability & Ergonomics
- Pin Wheel / Creep Mode: This allows the truck to be operated with the tiller arm in the vertical position. This is a "must-have" for navigating tight corners, crowded aisles, or the back of a delivery trailer.
5. Local Support & Maintenance
- Domestic Parts Support: Before buying, verify that the brand has a local parts warehouse in your country. And yes, we carry all parts!
Be sure you buying quality with the latest technology and standard option.
